A guide to the historical microscope collection owned by the Medical Museum of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, including photographs, indexes, and photocopied descriptions. Microscopes featured in the collection date from the 16th through the first half of the 20th centuries. Most of the photographs are in the first section of the index, followed by books 1-9 in which the microscopes are identified and described. The contents are arranged as follows: book 1: simple microscopes, ca. 1637-1870; book 2: compound microscopes, 1590-1790; book 3: compound microscopes, 1790-1841; book 4: compound microscopes, 1841-1875; book 5: compound microscopes, 1875-1881; book 6: compound microscopes, 1890-1901; book 7: compound microscopes, 1902-1933; book 8: binocular microscopes, 1678-1940; book 9: portable microscopes, 1860-1927. The final section is a list of microscope accessories which accompany the microscopes in the collection.
